Admissions
Applicants need to have, or be eligible to have, legal entitlement or licensure to practice psychotherapy in a recognized mental health profession (psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, marriage and family therapists, psychiatric nurses, pastoral counselors, and licensed professional counselors).
Applicants with an appropriate graduate degree who are not yet licensed are eligible for the Postgraduate Training in Psychodynamic Clinical Practice with a provisional license or if they work in an agency where they can practice legally. Certificates of completion will be granted once a candidates has received licensure.

Once the required documentation is received, the applicant will have interviews with 2 Training Committee members who, if possible, are in the applicant’s geographic area. The interviewers will explore the applicant’s interest in training and professional experience, and answer any questions. The application will be reviewed by the Chair of Admissions and the Training Committee.
Requests for advanced standing must be made in writing to the Chair of Admissions and the Director of the Training Committee. The applicant may be asked to provide certificates from prior psychoanalytic training, or course syllabi if specific course waivers are being requested.

Application Fee: $35
Course Fee: CPPNJ Members $400; Non-Members $550
Candidates Organization Dues: $40 per academic year.
Non-matriculation Fee: $50 per academic year, if not enrolled in at least one course
